Photobucket or Flickr?

So I'm thinking of signing up for an online photo service so that I can post all of my stuff....but I'm not sure which one. I've heard good stuff about Photobucket and about Flickr......thoughts anyone? Which one is better and why?

Paint?

We had been contemplating painting our new house before we moved in. I'm not a big fan of the color and we figured that it would be easier to do before everything was moved in. But now we are thinking that we may hold off because:

1. It's a lot of work!
2. I kinda just want to move in
3. We don't know what it's going to look like with all of our furniture etc in there
4. We can always paint it later.

So for now, the plan is to simply move in on April 27! I can't wait!!! Everytime that I am doing errands in Bellingham now I just think of how short my drive home will be in a month.

My new addiction

My newest addiction is Facebook. In two days I have already reconnected with 3 friends from years ago that I had totally lost touch with! Very crazy! Anyways, if you are on Facebook - let me know and we can be friends (that sounded so corny!). If you aren't on Facebook yet, check it out! www.facebook.com

We are buying a house!

We found a house! Phil and I scoured over all the listings and finally picked this one! We made an offer over the weekend and after a bit of negotiating, had a signed off offer! We close and get possession on April 26 which is only 4 weeks and 1 day away! (Not that I'm excited or anything).

The house is in Ferndale and is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It has all hardwood floors, lots of space, tons of windows for sun and a HUGE patio in the back. I guess that means that we will just have to have a HUGE BBQ party sometime this summer.

You can see a virtual tour of the house here. And don't worry - the curtains are going!!!

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend was very buys, but also very fun! My dear friend Jen came and spent the weekend which was wonderful!!! Phil was working on Saturday morning so we had a girls time! We went for a walk in the rain, talked, prayed, talked some more, and ate some yummy food!

In the evening we went to my mum's place to celebrate my b-day with my family and my good friend Carissa. It was a great evening, especially since I have barely seen my family for the past few months with being so busy with school.

On Sunday we then did b-day celebrations with my dad in the afternoon. Everyone left at 5:15, and then we had people over for dinner at 6! It was crazy.

Needless to say, I was quite tired come Monday morning!

Oops!

So...in my last post I said that I would talk more about listing our house in the next post. But I didn't get around to the next post. So here it is.

We listed our house last tuesday. This morning, we took it off the market because we have a signed offer to buy it from some people that we spoke with a few months ago. Which means, that 5 weeks from today we are moving! So now we just have to find a house (minor detail).

Crazy day and no diet coke!

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day. We listed our house (more about that in my next post) so that kept me really busy at work since I do all the marketing for all of our homes. Plus I had class, although it was quite boring, and then I had my anat and phys final in the evening.

And to add to that crazy day, I forgot to grab anything for dinner and I forgot my diet coke!! Very bad.

I am happy to say that the final went pretty good. I feel pretty confident about it which is a nice way to start my two week break from that class.

After the final my friend Jen and I went to the Porter House again. I had an Anacortes Oatmeal Stout that was pretty good, although not as good as Boundary Bay's. Oh well. We had a good time and it was just nice to celebrate being done the class!

Had a great b-day!

My birthday was a pretty good day! I got b-day emails throughout the day and several calls from my wonderful family and friends! My amazing husband surprised me at work with a dozen gorgeous fragrant roses. They are still on my desk and it's so nice to see them all day.

Phil came and picked me up after work on Monday and we went to Pad Thai for dinner! It's a super yummy thai restaurant in Bellingham that serves AMAZING martinis! I had a raspberry lemon drop.

Of course, after a big dinner, a martini and yummy cheesecake, I wasn't really in the mood to study for my final. So I studied for a bit, then went to bed early so I could get up early on Tuesday.

Truck is back!

Forgot to post this over the weekend - we got the truck back! Yay!!!! No more crazy commuting!! I will miss the time with Phil in the car, but I don't think that I will miss the extra hour of driving every day!

2 Bomb Threats within 5 days!

It's been a crazy end to my quarter at school! Last Thursday night I had just started my final lab exam at Skagit College when my teacher came in and told us to evacuate the building immediately and meet in the parking lot. I was quite confused since there was no fire alarm and typically, they don't do drills in college, especially during finals! So we met outside and found out there was a bomb threat on the college!

Since we couldn't finish our test that night (the cops had to come and search EVERY room on campus!!) our prof gave us the option of coming back the next day, or just not taking it and she wouldn't count it in our grade. My lab partner and I considered taking it the next day for a few minutes, then realized that we have As in the class and there is no point! So, off to the Porter House we went to enjoy some beer and appies! Very cool place by the way.

Then today I was sitting in my office and just getting ready to head out when Kesha came in and told us there had been a bomb threat at Whatcom Community College! So I checked online and the college has been closed for the day! Saves me from having to go to school on my b-day though! And, I now get to have Wins for lunch with Fawn and Kesha.

For those of you who don't know what Win's is, it is a small burger joint in Fairhaven - a total remnant of the 50s. Its your typical greasy spoon diner, with unbelievably good burgers for super cheap. We just won't talk about how horribly unhealthy it is!

Early B-day present

My birthday is next week and Phil got me my present a little early (it was on sale last week). A brand new set of pots and pans! I have never had a nice new set. I was using left overs from college and hand me downs from my brother-in-law Dave from before he and Jackie got married. I love cooking with them! I never realized what a difference it would make, but it truly does! Thank you so much honey!

My crazy week

I had an insane week! It all started on Monday....

Found out that I couldn't get a money order in canadian funds from my bank so I had to get my mum to come down and give me a CANADIAN check for my application. I then continued working on my application letter and this is where it got nuts!

Phil and I ripped apart and rewrote my application essay several times. I was finally at a point where I liked it at 11:30pm. I had pressed save numerous times, and closed it so that I could email it to myself. The problem was, I hadn't done a Save As, so....it was gone. It wasn't in my temporary folders, internet folders..... nowhere! We searched for half an hour (me bawling the entire time) and couldn't find it. So, at midnight, when I was already exhausted and still had a test to study for, I started to rewrite my application essay.

Thankfully I was able to remember a lot of what we had done. I finally went to bed at 1:30am only to get back up at 5am and keep working on it. Phil reviewed it for me again and we finally finished it. I went to ProPack with him and had everything printed and ready to go.

But then I found out that Fedex International couldn't GUARANTEE that it would be there the next day. I decided that I had worked hard enough that I wasn't going to let a little potential mistake by Fedex get in my way. So I called in to work, took a personal day, and headed off to UBC. I got there, handed in my application, took a quick wander through the bookstore (I love bookstores!!!) and of course, went to Blue Chip Java (I think I got the name right).

Blue Chip Java is a coffee shop in the UBC SUB (Student Union Building) that has the most incredible cookies! They are huge, soft, chewy and packed with flavor! These cookies are so special, that there isn't even a set price - each cookie is weighed in order to determine it's price. I had the Marbelicious - a terrific blend of chocolate cookie and chunks of white chocolate. Yum!!!!

About 20 minutes after I arrived at UBC, I got back in my car and headed south again. I made it to Bellingham just in time for my class. Feeling quite exhausted after that, I went to my friend Kelly's place to eat my lunch, do some research and have a few moments of quiet. Then it was off to Mt. Vernon for my anat and phys test. The test actually went ok which I was VERY grateful for!!!

Thankfully, my incredible chemistry teacher Monique postponed our Chem test so when I finally got home at 10pm on Tuesday night, I just fell asleep!!!

The rest of my week continued in a blur of homework, work and craziness! I was so thankful when Friday came! Phil and I had a relaxing night at home and did nothing!
