Adrenalin

I remember in my undergrad I would have weeks towards the end of the semester where I would have something due in every class and as I planned my week, I would hope for 3 hours of sleep a night. While this week isn't quite that bad, it is certainly reminiscent. Part of the problem is that I am older now and I need for sleep (I feel even older for having typed that!) The other difference is that I now have a husband, a home and full time job as opposed to my dorm room in junior housing and my waitressing shift on the weekend. Thankfully, my husband does a wonderful job of taking care of the home stuff which frees me up for more homework. Thanks honey!

So here is my week:
Monday - complete and submit UBC Nursing application. Study like mad for my anat and phys test!
Tuesday - write a brutally hard anat and phys test (I swear I will never be able to memorize all of the origins and insertions of the muscles!!!). Once I get home from the test at 10pm, start cramming for my chem test.
Wednesday - write huge chem test. In the evening, write my anat and phys assignment (research and write a 3 page analysis of a digestive disease).
Thursday - complete last weeks lab and prep for this weeks lab before I go to work. Go to lab, hand in my assignment that night.

On Thursday night when I get home from all of that, my plan is to grab Phil, a big bottle of wine, and a few episodes of Friends!

Random Thoughts

This morning I saw a beautifu newfoundland dog! He was huge, black and his name was Opus. He was so friendly! It made me want to get a dog really badly!!!

This morning was crisp and clear and I got to enjoy a stunning view of Bellingham Bay from my little tableat the Fairhaven Market as I studied.

The first words out of my mouth this morning were "Tomorrow is Saturday"

My quiz went much better than I thought it would last night due to some generous cram time given to us by our teacher.

Two of my teachers wrote me wonderful reference letters for my UBC application this week. Even though I asked them to write the letters, it is still so nice to read kind words that someone else has written about you.

In spite of being only a 4 day week, it's felt like a long week.

We had snow at our house this morning.

February is almost over - WEIRD!

I am a truly blessed woman!

Church Shopping

Phil and I have been thinking that we may want to switch churches when we move to Bellingham or Ferndale, and go to one that is closer to home. Yesterday we decided to check out a Bellingham church, Cornwall. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to! For some reason I just didn't think that it would be our style but it was quite good. The pastor did a really good sermon on making decisions. Proof that it was good? I can still tell you what he talked about!

A day off

Today is President's Day in the US which means that I get a day off work! Yay!!! Stats are quite different down here than they are in Canada. There are a few that everyone gets off (Memorial Day, July 4, Labour Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas) but there are a bunch that are just weird like Presidents Day. Government offices, schools and banks are all closed and everyone else is left scratching their heads wondering if they get it off or not.

Anyways, it has been a productive day so far. I've studies anat and phys, got to make myself a hot lunch (I never get hot lunches during the week because our office doesn't have a microwave) and started to work on my nursing school entrance esssay. It's SO nice to have a bonus day to work on stuff!

Still on the agenda for today:
- study Chem
- finish Chem lab
- keep working on entrance essay
- keep memorizing muscles (anat & phys)
- make dinner
- make cookies (if I really feel like procrastinating :) )
- pay bills and file a bunch of stuff

Such fun! I really do wish that I had one day a week at home - I could get so much done! Oh well. Maybe one day.

Popcorn Update

I have successfully made about 5 bags of microwave popcorn over the past couple of weeks! Yay me! I have popcorn skills.

Blah - mid quarter blues

I'm half way through my classes for this quarter and I'm at that weird point where it's not the begining, the end isn't quite in sight, and I'm just....there. I guess the end is kind of in sight - 4 weeks until my anat and phys final and 5 weeks until my chem final. It just seems like a long time right now.

I wish I had something exciting to say...but alas, I don't. I work, I go to school, I study.

We did have a very nice Valentines Day this week. We opted out of the craziness of restaurants and instead had a gourmet steak dinner at home. Yummy!!!!

The other thing we have been doing is watching Band of Brothers. I gave it to Phil for his b-day. It is so good!! I'm really enjoying it a lot. Too bad there is only two more episodes. Oh well - then it's back to Friends - I love that series too!

SO STRESSED!!!!

This is just a quick update because I only have 2 minutes....

Truck Update - not a writeoff. It will be in the shop until March 9th which means a lot of commuting for Phil and I until then.

School - I'm stressed!!!!! Big test tonight in anat and phys. Big test tomorrow in Chem. Brain hurts! Brain full! Can't memorize anything else!!

Gotta run!
